A helicopter drops you on a remote part of the glacier, and you spend up to two hours on the ice behind a guide who cuts steps as you go. Boots, crampons, socks, a pole and a waterproof jacket are supplied. The operator rates the fitness as low to moderate: expect slow walking on uneven ice with spikes on your boots, and a minimum age of nine.
